Two thirds of Aurelius Township is covered by the City of Mason Fire Department and the other one third by the Eaton Rapids Township Fire Department.

You must have a burning permit if you are not burning in a covered barrel. 

If you have a fire, the township will bill your insurance company for the fire run; and if the insurance company doesn't pay the entire fee of the fire run, the balance will be paid from the township's fire fund. If you are burning without a permit, you will be responsible for the entire fire bill.
