AURELIUS TOWNSHIP - INFORMATION FOR SUMMER TAXES 2025

Hours of Operation:        

Tuesday thru Friday, 10 am to 3 pm; and September 15, 9 am to 5 pm
                
Due Date:            

Monday, September 15, 2025; 9 am to 5 pm.  Last day to pay without penalty. Postmarks and check dates are not accepted as the date for on-time payment.  Allow 5 to 7 days for your payment to reach us by September 15, 2025.

Payment Method:    

Check, Money Order or Cash (exact amount preferred) for payment. We also accept Credit Cards.  There is a 3% fee for Credit Card Services.  If you mail your payment or use the drop box and you want a receipt, please provide a self-addressed, stamped envelope or an email address.

Penalty:  

 One percent (1%) interest is levied on unpaid real and personal property taxes starting Tuesday, September 16, 2025.  An additional 1% will be levied on the first of every month thereafter for unpaid taxes.        

Please mail your check OR use the secure drop box at the entrance to the town hall.  You may make payments 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.

Paying by Check:        

Make your check(s) for the exact amount of the tax bill. Check(s) will be returned to taxpayer if amount is incorrect.  Please double check the written amount and the numerical amount to make sure they agree.  Payment is recognized and applied upon receipt.  
    
Taxpayer w/Mortgage:    

We send a tax bill to all taxpayers and mortgage companies. If you have a mortgage company, they will pay your taxes. You will need the tax bill (you received) for filing income tax.    

Update Mailing Address:    

By law, failure to receive a tax bill does not relieve you of the obligation to pay on time. Changing your voter registration information does not update tax records.

Holiday Hours:        We will be closed July 4th for Independence Day.

Deferment:    

Persons eligible for deferment of summer taxes may print out a form from our website or pick up a form at our office.  Form must be submitted to Township Treasurer no later than September 15, 2025.
